On the 12th of September 2004, the Sealed Knot re-enacted the Battle of Sandbach in the Town Park which is adjacent to the Scotch Common where the actual battle took place on the 3rd September 1651.
A contingent of Scottish troops were returning north after defeat at the Battle of Worcester and were set upon by the townspeople of Sandbach.
