Sandbach is a "Transport Town" in that both ERF and Foden lorries were made in the town.

The first idea of a festival to recognise Sandbach's link with the industry was a special parade held in April 1992. This was so successful that it is now an annual event. The parade consists of all types of transport - cars, buses, lorries, steam vehicles and horses.

The day of the festival is combined with a National Town Criers competition.

The event is staged every April and includes a general market, a craft fair and all sorts of music and entertainment.
